ON STEPPING INTO SHOWBIZ: “I always had a penchant for acting but had no idea that I would literally end up in this profession. But since I was always very passionate about having an acting career and was also lucky to have gotten a chance, it was possibly destined to happen.” ON HER CHILDHOOD DREAM: “I was the kind of child who would put on a performance in front of a mirror during childhood. Even now I do it as I often sing and rehearse my dialogues off camera too (Laughs). You can call it my passion and dedication towards my work.” ON HER LEARNING EXPERIENCE: “Even though the industry is quite competitive, all these years I have spent here as an actor have been amazing. I have learnt a lot and am still learning through my work, characters, co-actors and of course, seniors. I have always had a chance to learn and will always keep learning.”

On the other side, whatever experience I have gained in the industry has changed me drastically, for good. From being a simple girl, I have turned into a professional individual, which helped me a lot in understanding various things. As a person, I have matured immensely and know how to deal with people, thanks to my experience of dealing with production houses and day-to-day interactions with different people. Whenever one gets to face such challenges, they eventually mature as an individual.” ON HER FRIEND’S FAMILY’S SUPPORT: “Family support, at the end of the day, was and is very important to me. I discuss and share even trivial matters at home and receive guidance accordingly.” ON JEALOUSY PREVAILING IN THE INDUSTRY: Initially, I was very emotional. I was unaware of the fact that the people who I called my true friends were actually jealous souls who would backbite. As soon as I found out and heard them speak ill about me, I was utterly shocked and would often cry on the set. In those hard times, a director like Mohsin Mirza was there for me, for he is like a teacher-brother to me. After working day and night in the industry I have concluded that jealousy and enmity exists, but all one needs to do is to be mature enough to deal with it.”

ON HER MARITAL LIFE: “It happened all of a sudden, be it the date or the venue (Masjid Al-Haram, Makkah) of our nikkah. It was amazing and it is difficult to explain my feelings in words. Our nikkah took place after Asr prayers and the entire experience was like a dream. Managing things after marriage gets a little difficult but one has to know how to manage life. I have reduced the number of projects and commit to one project at a time, so I can easily spend time with my husband and family. It is all because of my parents’ and husband’s support that I continue to work in the industry.” ON HER DREAM ROLES: “The role of an action girl and Umrao Jaan Ada are two of my dream characters which I am eager to play on-screen one day. I would definitely love to do a challenging character, and if someone comes with a script that involves a message in its story, I would do it.” ON HER FAMILY VALUES: “Even though I want to experiment with my work as an actor, I had turned down a film role with the aim to never compromise on my family values. As the offers wanted me to appear in romantic scenes and item songs, I eventually turned them down because I cannot do anything in which my values will be compromised.” HER LOVED ONES: “I am all for living life to the fullest with my loved ones.
